a little test.

EDIT: Here's the finished piece!

Recently, I have decided to take a more realistic / darker approach to some concepts to see where it will take me. This was the first of 7 that I have started to paint. Just a little test to better myself.

I guess it is obvious that these designs will reflect the 7 sins. I want to transform each one into a character, and try to portray how each sin would actually look and act as an actual being. What if they were serving an eternity in hell, and they are almost Lucifer's helpers/pets in a sense to punish people who go to hell. Just a thought. This is still at its beginning stages, so more to come later.

Gluttony has to survive by constantly searching and eating. That is his punishment for eternity, which explains the multiple mouths, eyeballs and a lack of hygiene.

any comments and suggestions, even ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Been working on this interpretation of Scarecrow for a while. Still has some lighting issues that I need to fix, and then clean up a little more, but it is pretty close to a finish.

final submision

Character Description:

Name: Bang Bang
Race: Spirit
Class: Invoker
Artifact Power: Void

My character is actually a spirit that cannot be seen.

The armor it self is a weapon. And it tends to different personalities depending on the spirit that poses it.

Bang Bang is the spirit that poses artifacts to stay active. Since he is a spirit, he is unable to directly contact other races.

The power of this armor is void, because he is not really alive, and therefore hard for the machines to judge or kill.

As an invoker, Bang Bang is able to manipulate air to move this armor as his warrior.

Other details:

The springs compress and help with acceleration.
The head swivels up and down.
He is very observant.
His attacks are normally very strong, but is almost restricted to a all or nothing blow. When he attacks, its similar to how a swat team would use a battering ram to knock down a door.
Left side has more armor because it is the side that needs protection when he is jousting.

Dominance War 3

So I entered the competition, and just trying to push myself into different genres as a challenge.

This is still a work in progress, so any comment/ suggestion will be great!

Thanks, enjoi.

- There are 9 remaining planets.
- Each planet has adopted back to traditional hand to hand combat to train their soldiers. Each planet almost resembling a country, eg. japanese = samurai, chinese = kung fu, etc.........
- Only a few have truly been able to adapt back to these art forms, and therefore are masters of that realm.
- My character's main style of combat would be jousting.

- He is not actually strong, but very observant.

- Uses momentum from his massive weapon to strike opponent.

- He has to be very accurate, since it is all in one blow or nothing.

- "The best defense is offense" is his mentality.

- He is constantly off balance, but it almost works to his advantage because it makes him unpredictable.

- His left side heavily armored for protection, versus his right side which is bare for better mobility.

- If you were to imagine holding a massive gattling gun, that would be his normal stance.

- When he attacks, its similar to how a swat team would use a battering ram to knock down a door.

These are early thumbnails and explorations:

Here is a different shape that I am more happy with:

Here is a cleaned up line drawing.

more refined characteristics:

My character is actually a spirit that can barely be seen.

The armor it self is a weapon. And it tends to different powers / personalities depending on the spirit that poses it.

eg., fire, water, etc.....

My character is going to be an invoker. By using air, he is able to manipulate and move this armor as his warrior.

He will definitely have to be inside of the armor, since he could be physically attacked.
